📇 We're the small team behind Chiclex, and we got tired of relearning the same words. Every workplace quietly invents its own dialect — and every time you switch teams, projects, or jobs, you start the glossary over from scratch. Chiclex is a private place to write down what a word actually means where you work.
🎯 Our mission is simple: give the unwritten language of your job a home. Not a sanitized dictionary entry, but the real one — the meaning your team agreed on, the project it belongs to, and the day you first bumped into it. The most useful definition is the one written in your own words.

Chiclex is built on a single, uncomplicated promise: the app does not collect, store on our side, or transmit any of your data. Everything you create lives entirely on your own device, and nothing leaves it through Chiclex.
Nothing. Chiclex has no sign-up, no login, and no user accounts. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or location, and we run no analytics or telemetry. The terms you write, your personal definitions, the project names, first-heard dates, "see also" links, and your searches are all created and kept on your device — never on ours.
Since we never receive any information, there is nothing for us to use. We do not profile you, sell data, share it with advertisers, or feed it into any model. Adding cards, editing definitions, linking terms, searching, and sorting all run locally, for you alone.
Your entire catalog is stored locally in Chiclex's on-device storage. There is no cloud backend, no remote database, and no synchronization to our servers. Your cards never travel across the network on our behalf, and we have no ability to read them.
Chiclex contains no third-party analytics, advertising networks, trackers, or embedded marketing SDKs. We do not integrate external services that would observe how you use the app or what you write into it. There are no hidden passengers riding along with your data.
Because your information never leaves your device, its exposure to outside risk is kept to an absolute minimum. Your catalog is protected by the same device-level safeguards as everything else on your phone, such as your passcode or biometric lock. We recommend keeping your device secured and updated.
Chiclex does not collect personal information from anyone — including children under the age of 13. Because no data is gathered, transmitted, or stored by us at all, the app is consistent with the spirit of COPPA. We do not knowingly request or hold information from children or adults.
You are fully in charge of your data at all times. Add, edit, or delete any card whenever you like. To remove everything, simply delete the app — uninstalling Chiclex erases its local data from your device. Because there are no accounts and no backups on our side, there is nothing left with us to export or wipe.
If this policy is ever updated, we'll revise the text and update the Effective Date above so you can see when it last changed. Our core commitment — no collection, no storage on our side, no transmission — is not something we intend to walk back.
